I am ecstatic about what the next month holds for Lucas Sader Music, including the release of The Lucas Sader Project's debut album, "Apollo: Tribute to the Miles Davis Quintet". The recording features myself on drums, along with world-renowned trumpeter Derrick Gardner, alto/tenor saxophonist Paul Balcain, pianist Paul De Gurse, and bassist Karl Kohut. We will be celebrating the release of the record with an Album Release Show on Thursday, November 22nd, at the West End Cultural Centre at 8pm. The Lucas Sader Project will feature two special guests for the evening; Will Bonness on piano and vocalist Erin Propp. Tickets are $12 students, $15 advance, and $20 at the door. Advance tickets are available online from TicketWeb (www.ticketweb.ca) and in person at the West End Cultural Centre (586 Ellice Avenue), Music Trader (97 Osbrone Street), and directly from me. This fall I penned a writing piece, titled "The Storm and The Calm", as the liner notes for "Apollo: Tribute to the Miles Davis Quintet".
